What You’ll Do:

In this role, you'll blend commercial acumen with a passion for music, working at the intersection of analytics and artist relations. You'll lead negotiations, close deals, and support artists through the royalty transaction process.

This position will evolve into a people-management role as the company expands, offering substantial career progression for the right person! Hustle, hard work, and tenacity are essential in this dynamic start-up environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Collaborate with A&R, Underwriting, Legal, and Finance teams to lead, negotiate, and close strategic opportunities that meet both company and artist objectives.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze and organize artists' financial data and royalty statements to create suitable commercial propositions.
  • Sales Process: Focus on the final stages of the sales process, including overseeing the pitch document, closing deals, and managing the royalty rights transfer process.
  • Cross-Functional Role: Operate at the intersection of music, operations, and data analytics, directly contributing to the democratization of music catalog monetization.
  • Track key deal points and conversations using internal tools like HubSpot, Airtable, and Notion.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging technologies in music fintech.
  • Artist Relations: Build rapport with mid-market and independent artists.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or relevant finance/professional services.
  • Ability to decipher data and craft a suitable pricing plan/ forecasting model for artists
  • Understanding of the music industry and ability to navigate complex deal structures.
  • Experience in opportunity and risk assessment, with informed decision-making skills during negotiations.
  • Ability to interpret and synthesize legal agreements.
  • Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for a startup environment.
  • Passion for music and culture, with an interest in new business models for artists.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
