Head of Tech/IT – Multi-Site Event

Salary: Up to £100k + Bonus

We are seeking an experienced Head of Technology to oversee and execute the tech infrastructure for a multi-site event in London. This pivotal role offers the potential to grow into a CTO position.
Key Responsibilities:
· Sole Tech Specialist: Act as the primary contact for all external vendors, accountable for all tech results and execution.
· Tech Infrastructure Setup: Establish in-house tech systems (Slack, Gmail, websites, domains) and source necessary devices (mobile networks, data suppliers, scanning devices, printers).
· Project Management: Shape and manage the entire tech scope of the event, coordinating internal resources and multiple outsourced vendors.
· Customer Experience: Ensure a seamless IT experience for event attendees, focusing on digital innovations and data security.
· Vendor Collaboration: Develop technology architecture in partnership with vendors, overseeing the Event's App design and build.
· Data Security: Maintain and ensure data security, integrate system architectures, manage ticketing solutions, and negotiate mobile/data supplier partnerships.
Requirements:
· Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role, preferably within large-scale events or festivals.
· Strong background in managing technology infrastructure and digital innovation projects at scale.
· Experience with vendor management and contract negotiations.
· Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee complex, multi-site technical projects.
· Strong understanding of data security and digital security measures.
· Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
· Experience with customer-facing technology solutions, including mobile apps and ticketing systems.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
· You are naturally entrepreneurial and have loads of ideas around digital innovation and CX
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
· Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior technology role, preferably within the events industry.
· Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale events and complex technological infrastructures.
· Proven experience in budget management and financial planning.
· Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, CISSP) are a plus.
