This long standing, digital, high value data and events business are looking to appoint a new Editor in Chief onto their prestigious food portfolio of brands.
Highly regarded for creating impactful connections that inspire and empower their clients, this role will focus on food, nutrition, pharmaceutical and cosmetic content, across an array of platforms: digital media, insights, prestigious awards, innovative exhibitions, events and print.
The Role:
This role will be a highly visible market-facing role, and we would expect you to get absorbed within the related markets quickly. Forging relationships with all the key associations, networking with customers present and future, and acting as the editorial ambassador in EMEA.
The Editor in Chief will be responsible for:
· Championing a clear and differentiated editorial road-map for the titles, driven by core primary readership
· Delivering high quality editorial content in multi-media and written formats
· Suggesting new food brand development opportunities to the Managing Director, implementing where required
· Maintaining and strengthening brand’s editorial authority and visibility in its market and engaging actively with primary audience
· Collaborating with sales, marketing, and event managers within a framework of editorial integrity
· Working closely with all existing and new European content brands within the portfolio.
· Collaborating with other divisions where there are areas of potential opportunity or synergy
· Manage and mentor a team of journalists, sharing best practice and support their development within the team/the company
About You:
· Trained business / multimedia journalist with strong B2B related industry experience
· Strong leadership qualities and proven managerial track record
· Deep knowledge of the European food industry, digital media and content strategies
· Portfolio of food industry contacts a plus
· Strong business sense with excellent networking and interpersonal skills
· Equally comfortable delivering written or multi-media content
· Confident public speaker / moderator
· Good diplomacy skills
· Solid knowledge of social media channels
· Highly collaborative
· Imaginative and strong sense of initiative
· Well organised and ability to prioritise effectively
· Good internal and external negotiator
· Commercially minded
· Strong communicator
